A clear path to your first deck.
From your notes to your next Anki review. Find a guide for every step.
Getting started
Your first Anki deck
- 01
Create an account, open the confirmation email, then sign in. Open Study desk.
- 02
Paste at least 40 characters of study material, upload a supported file, or enter a web page URL and select Read page.
- 03
Name your deck. Choose Question & answer to start, then set a language, card count, difficulty and focus.
- 04
Select Make cards. Check every question and answer; edit inaccuracies or remove cards you do not need.
- 05
Download Anki deck (.apkg). In Anki choose File → Import and select the downloaded file. Your cards and included media are imported together.
AI can make mistakes. Review important facts against your source, especially medical content.
Study material
Files, web pages & pictures
- 01
Upload PDF, Word (.docx), PowerPoint (.pptx), EPUB, TXT, Markdown, CSV or JSON within the file-size limit shown for your plan. Password-protected or scanned files may not contain extractable text.
- 02
For PDFs, use the page-range option to focus on the pages you need. Check the extracted text before making cards.
- 03
To read a website, enter its full https URL and select Read page. Private pages, paywalls and blocked sites may not be readable.
- 04
Pro and Premium can choose up to 20 pictures found in supported documents or web pages. Select pictures before generating cards.
- 05
Pictures are matched using captions, nearby text and their position in the source. Check each card's picture and remove an unsuitable match before export.
Source files are processed locally in your browser; extracted text is sent for card generation. Only use material you have permission to process.
Card generation
Fine-tune card generation
- 01
Question & answer tests one fact. Both directions adds reverse review. Cloze hides part of a sentence.
- 02
Use automatic card count or choose your own count within your remaining allowance.
- 03
Choose the output language, answer detail and difficulty. Add focus instructions to prioritize a topic or exam objective.
- 04
Review generated cards before adding audio or downloading. Removing or editing a card does not undo generation usage.
For effective review, prefer a single clear question over a card that asks for several unrelated facts.
Card generation
Templates & saved field instructions
- 01
Open Templates and select Preview to explore a design's front, back, tabs and light or dark appearance.
- 02
Plus, Pro and Premium members can buy a template for 25 kr once, including VAT. A purchase unlocks the design, not extra card allowance.
- 03
After purchase, select the template in Study desk under Card type.
- 04
Open advanced field options. Enable only the fields you want generated, and write an instruction for each field.
- 05
Use auto-generated instructions per field or for all fields. Your written draft is used as the starting point; an empty draft uses the field name. Choices and instructions save automatically for that note type.
Image and audio are added separately; disabling a text field keeps it empty in generated output.
Advanced features
Spoken audio & language learning
- 01
With Premium, generate and review your cards first.
- 02
In Spoken audio, select one or more fields to read aloud. Choose the language that matches the text.
- 03
Select Add audio. Each selected field receives its own sound: a question's audio stays on the front, an answer's on the back. Purchased templates use their own selected fields.
- 04
Download the .apkg after audio has finished. Sound files are included in the deck and play in Anki.
Audio uses one advanced card per card, regardless of how many fields are read. Voice availability varies by language; check pronunciation when learning.
Advanced features
Image Occlusion, step by step
- 01
With Premium, open Image Occlusion and upload a clearly labelled diagram as a picture. Direct PDF-page selection is not available yet.
- 02
Run the AI label scan. Check every detected box; move or resize boxes so that they cover the label, not the anatomy.
- 03
Add a box when a label was missed, or delete a box you do not want tested. Every box needs an answer label.
- 04
Choose Hide all or Hide one, and set Labels hidden per card. The maximum is based on AI-detected labels; manually drawn boxes do not increase that maximum.
- 05
Preview the cards, add a title and deck name, then download the .apkg. Import it into Anki to review the original picture with its masks.
Premium includes the basic design. The richer Image Occlusion template is a separate 25 kr purchase. Limits: 100 pictures, up to 50 cards per picture and 5,000 image cards per month.

Plans, credits & subscriptions
- 01
Open Account to view your plan, subscription status and usage. Prices include 25% Swedish VAT.
- 02
Free includes 20 text cards/month; Plus 250; Pro 500; Premium 750 text cards plus 250 advanced cards. Image Occlusion has its own separate limits.
- 03
Buy 100 extra basic text cards for 50 kr. Credits do not expire and apply to Basic, Reversed and Cloze text cards, not audio or Image Occlusion.
- 04
Use Manage billing in Account to manage payment details or cancel. Cancelled subscriptions keep access until the paid period ends.
- 05
Upgrades apply immediately with prorated billing; downgrades take effect at the next billing date.
If a payment is still processing, return to Account after checkout and allow time for the payment confirmation to arrive.

Downloads, storage & troubleshooting
- 01
Download .apkg for the complete deck, including images and audio. Text file is a fallback for text content, not a replacement for embedded media.
- 02
Keep a copy of the downloaded deck somewhere safe. If generation fails, check your remaining allowance, source text and internet connection before retrying.
- 03
If Anki cannot open a download, make sure it ends in .apkg and import it from File → Import. Update Anki if needed.
- 04
If pictures or audio are missing, check the card preview and confirm audio creation finished before downloading. Download a fresh copy after editing.
Direct saving to each user's Google Drive is pending connection setup and is not available yet.
Advanced features
AI assistant access (MCP)
- 01
Compatible assistants can connect to Mind Solutions through its MCP integration once hosted authorization is enabled.
- 02
Sign in and review the permission screen before approving access.
- 03
Currently available tools read your plan and usage, and list the card template catalog. They do not create cards or download decks.
Hosted assistant authorization still needs verification; tool availability is not a promise that a connection is active.
